Whitingham has a fishing derby every June for youngsters up to 14 years old called “Kids Hooked on Fishing.” What I like about these two photos is the simplicity and innocence they display.

The Duck Race
I’d heard about the Duck Race but never seen it. The purpose is to raise money for charity and everyone that submits a duck has to pay. The tiny rubber ducks are put in the water of the branch of the Deerfield River in Wilmington, Vermont and flow down stream to the center of town where they are collected. I must admit that seeing hundreds of yellow ducks coming around the bend is a sight to behold. The boy in the photo, had waded the river on his own.
