Lady in the restaurant
was sitting in a restaurant in North Hampton, Massachusetts when I noticed a lady at another table talking with a companion. As the light from the window washed over the lady's face, she looked to me like a painting of a French aristocrat of an earlier century. I didn't want to take her picture without her permission but felt sorry I missed what might have been a fine portrait; But, as she stood to leave, I called to her. She came over and I explained that I'd really like to take photograph her for the reason stated above. She seemed to relish the idea and went back to her table and resumed her earlier conversation.
