No matter how many photos I have taken there is always more to learn. I purchased a new wide angle lens. For photographers, it was a Canon 11 mm to 20 mm wide angle lens. This is useful particularly in photographing scenery. So i drove, in the snow and ice up Town Hill to try to get a photo of the mountains surrounding my home in Vermont.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t go to the place which really shows the mountains and valley because of the snow and ice. But along with the lens was some valuable information: put an object in the immediate foreground; it will improve the photo immensely. The article was talking about a person only a few inches from the camera. However there was a speed sign nearby. I couldn’t get that close, but I was close enough.

To test the proposition, I photographed the area with and without the sign.. There was no comparison that with the sign it became an interesting photo. In the spring, after the snow goes, I hope to get the photo I really want to take. AND — look at the sign. The clumsy attempt to change 30 to 80 with the paint running down the sign is interesting by itself.  What do you think?
